The Wesley Private Hospital
The first endoscopy unit that GIE worked within was at The Wesley Hospital in 1985. It was in this time period that GIE first incorporated their gastrointestinal endoscopy services. Three of our current six Gastroenterologists were founding members of the GIE group, Drs Roberts, Robinson and Sandford. In 1987, two years after GIE formed a partnership and commenced working from The Wesley Hospital, these Gastroenterologists established Brisbane Endoscopy Services at Sunnybank.
From the Endoscopy Unit in the East Wing at The Wesley Hospital, GIE offers ‘Open Access’ endoscopy services for colonoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. Private procedural work is also performed from this endoscopy unit. GIE values the contribution and services provided by The Wesley Hospital along with the care and attention afforded to their patients.
Completion of major developments at The Wesley Private Hospital has seen GIE relocate to the new third floor of the Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit located in the east wing of the Hospital. The new facility is a part of a $102 million, nine-level hospital expansion that has truly set the standard for 21st century healthcare service and delivery. www.uhc.com.au/wesley
