To all of our patients and to all of our referrers, your health and the health of our community is our primary concern. At GastroIntestinal Endoscopy we have, for over 30 years, been diagnosing, preventing and treating digestive disease. We are here to help you to remain healthy during this time. The challenges of navigating healthcare during COVID-19 are still present. Fortunately following early success of social distancing and the assured access to personal protective equipment, the majority of endoscopic procedures will recommence Monday, April 27th. This includes all endoscopy and colonoscopy that is triaged at category 1, 2 and important category 3 cases. (https://www.health.gov.au/ministers/the-hon-greg-hunt-mp/media/elective-surgery-restrictions-eased). GIE will continue to carefully triage all our patients balancing the clinical and community risks and benefits of each case. We are pleased to be able to expand our service from the initial restrictions. We are continuing to offer patients the option of a bulk-billed pre-procedure consultation for those that are concerned about their procedure in the current climate. We will continue post-procedure phone consults to help us to advise patients. However, for those patients in the categories above we will return to our usual rapid and efficient access to quality endoscopy and colonoscopy that we have been offering for so many years. We promise to continue to provide updates during this time. We are incredibly grateful to be involved with your ongoing digestive healthcare. If you have any concerns or questions, please call our COVID-19 Hotline 1300 439 388. We are here to help.
